Job Summary

You are a Procurement and Planning Lead supporting the day to day activities of the materials planning group. Your experience in supply chain management enables you to partner with customers to identify materials requirements for meeting project build schedules as well as maintaining the source of supply. You have the ability to build strong internal relationships through working closely with operations personnel to help meet project requirements.

• Supports process improvements to standardization through strategic understanding of Material planning requirements for various projects
• Acts as the primary contact in resolving material issues with internal and external customers as well as with suppliers;
• Acts as the liaison between customer, planning, warehouse and project management to support the development of production schedules
• Collaborates with supply chain teams to efficiently integrate changes in demand into production plans;
• Ensures on time delivery on all issued POs and follow up on any resulting issues
• Researches and identifies purchasing opportunities to ensure that the lowest total cost of ownership is achieved for Ledcor
• Maintains relationships with existing suppliers to ensure that they are committed to supporting our long-term needs
• Assists operations personnel to help meet the project requirements in regards to equipment, materials or other procured needs
• Provides assistance to all LTS departments in obtaining quotes for purchasing needs
• Works collaboratively with operations personnel to ensure procedures are followed
• May perform other related duties as assigned


• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in material planning, bill of materials, supplier sourcing, contract negotiation within an Engineering or Industrial manufacturing environment
• Professional certification or training through an accredited procurement society such as Logistics Institute (P. Log), the Purchasing
• Management Association of Canada (PMAC) or The Association for Operations
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions within a low supervision environment
• A highly organized and self-motivated individual with a proven record of working in a fast paced high demand environment
• Expert knowledge of Excel and MRP systems and the ability to pull reports and statistics as required; JDE experience would be an asset
• Working knowledge of Word, Order management, and planning tools required
• Working knowledge of ISO9001 principles
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills required
• Highly motivated, results focused and acts with a high sense of urgency
