You are an Indigenous Affairs leader with 5 plus years of experience working with Indigenous communities in construction or oil and gas sectors. You will develop, implement and leverage your existing relationships to advance our Indigenous business relations strategy, pertaining to multi-disciplinary construction projects from start to finish and beyond.

• Develop, implement and manage short and long range indigenous business development strategies for projects.
• Work with Corporate Shared Services team to develop employment, skills development and subcontracting programs.
• Establish and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities.
• Participate in business development activities, including development of existing long-term relationships with clients' Indigenous Affairs personnel.
• Participate in the preparation of responses by providing community intelligence to the proposal team.
• Refine, edit and tailor marketing collateral and presentations to specific clients and opportunities.
• Liaises with Ledcor Human Resources personnel ensuring commitments and inclusion with respect to training, skills development and recruitment are advanced.
• Engage with Indigenous Affairs departments of Provincial and if necessary Federal government.
• Manage and participate in client, community and professional events in order to promote Ledcor.
• Develop and maintain relevant community, project-specific financial and employment information.
• Stay current with industry trends and client activities in order to identify new markets and opportunities.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of Federal and Provincial policy initiatives with respect to Indigenous Affairs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.


• Completion of post-secondary education in Business, Law or another related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in Indigenous Business engagement and a deep understanding of Federal and Provincial Indigenous Policy.
• Existing contacts with Aboriginal Communities, Provincial and Federal Ministries responsible for Indigenous affairs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and written abilities, with highly refined presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker with excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to establish clear priorities.
• Strong negotiating skills and able to draft partnering agreements.
• Industry experience from the construction and/or oil and gas sectors.
• Ability to lead, coach and manage a team of people.

Work Conditions

• Office based position
• Some travel will be required to site and/or office locations within Canada
• This role requires occasional on-call work
