Job Summary

You are an experienced Indigenous Relations executive, who has demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic large-scale, phased and master-planned engagement strategies. You will utilize your superior communication, presentation, negotiation, influence and relationship building skills to enhance and refine Ledcor's Indigenous Relations strategy. As a Vice President, Indigenous Affairs, you will partner with Ledcor's business leaders across multiple divisions, client executives and Indigenous Relations community leaders to ensure community partnerships and goals are met. • Works with the Executive and Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a comprehensive indigenous engagement strategy. This includes building and securing alignment among multiple business units to one over-arching strategy.
• Develops and maintains relationships with Community Leaders and Client Executives, representing the Ledcor brand with the goal of advancing existing long-term relationships with communities
• Identifies new strategic partners and indigenous business opportunities, ensures a smooth flow of information and communication to senior leaders
• Keeps abreast of all aspects of government policy pertaining to indigenous rights and programming
• Engages in industry associations and government discussion on policy development
• Manages and participates in client, community and professional events in order to promote Ledcor
• Participates in key indigenous events and organizations
• Works with other Ledcor stakeholders to develop, implement and monitor recruitment, training and vendor development programs
• Provides day-to-day guidance to the Indigenous Relations team. Assesses individual performance and provides developmental feedback and opportunities on an ongoing basis
• Works collaboratively with Ledcor Corporate, Business Development and Governmental Relations teams to share knowledge and ideas
• Develops and ensures tracking of relevant industry, employment, project-specific financial and budgetary information for the management team
• Stays current with industry trends in order to identify new markets and opportunities


• Completion of post-secondary education in Business, Law or another related field
• 10 years’ experience in Indigenous Business engagement and a deep understanding of Federal and Provincial Indigenous Policy
• Substantial contacts with Aboriginal Communities, Provincial and Federal Ministries responsible for Indigenous affaires
• Industry experience from the Construction and/or Oil & Gas sectors
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills, with highly refined presentation skills
• Ability to influence senior leaders and executives and align strategy across multiple business units
• Strategic thinker with excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to establish clear priorities
• Strong negotiating skills and able to draft partnering agreements
• Ability to work within a complex organization, ensuring all internal and external stakeholder relationships are developed and maintained
• Ability to lead, coach and manage a team of people

Work Conditions

• This is an office based position that will require regular travel to various project sites and office locations
