Corrosion Surveyor Lead Hand - Pipeline Maintenance

You are an experienced Lead Hand who’s familiar with all aspects of cathodic protection survey work on pipelines. You will be a hands-on, detail oriented Lead, running a small crew of 2-5 people, and working alongside Client’s Technicians and Project Managers. As a Cathodic Protection (CP) Lead Hand within our Ledcor Industrial Maintenance team, you will be part of a nation-wide effort responsible for the ongoing care of our Client’s buried facilities.

Performs front line supervision of CP survey work
Promotes a safety culture environment
Drive to various geographic locations to conduct CP surveys as directed
Perform CP surveys such as annual test lead surveys, close interval surveys (CIS), diagnostic testing (current requirement test), commissioning surveys with strict adherence to specifications and standards
Organize and optimize survey information collected and submit for review
Reading and interpreting maps, drawings, procedures, survey results, plots, reports and applicable operation and repair manuals
Perform minor test leads/test post repairs
Ensure equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, data loggers, pipe locators etc.) and tools are in proper working condition and calibrated (perform minor repairs as required)
Operate and maintain a variety of equipment (ATV’s, Argo’s etc.) to meet operational needs and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
Prepares and delivers work instructions and safety meetings to the crew at the start of daily shift
Communicate work progress to Client Technician and others as required on a daily basis
Responsible for completing and submitting daily timesheet, safety documentation, and other paperwork
Assist Client Technician as required in other duties
Must have 3-5 years’ experience in Cathodic Protection industry
NACE CP1 or CP2 certification will be an asset
Enform Rectifier training will be an asset
Alberta AAIT CP level 1 or level 2 will be an asset
Must have strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have excellent problem solving abilities
Must have a valid Driver’s License (with clean driving record)
Must be able to work with little supervision, while adding to a safe and positive team environment
Must be willing to travel extensively and work in various outdoor weather conditions
Able to walk for an extended period of time in rough terrain
Capable of multitasking while walking
May be required to work a modified schedule (e.g. 10 days on, 4 days off)
