Manages the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and the related quality processes, compliance, procedures and tools for employees and subcontractors
Supports the project team with reviews of the quality program’s implementation and reports on project compliance to various stakeholders
Review and revise the plan, processes and procedures as necessary
Oversees development of inspection and test plans (ITPs) and ensures they address project requirements
Oversees the non-conformance process when the work does not meet requirements
Responsible for ensuring quality records are complete, accurate and submitted in a timely manner
Responsible for identifying closeout and turnover requirements, preparing a turnover plan and tracking and reporting the submission of these documents
Works directly with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure quality submittals are complete, submitted in a timely fashion and satisfy project requirements
Oversees general administrative and recordkeeping functions to ensure quality documentation is filed, archived and retrievable throughout the project
Coordinates quality resources (staff, craft, contractors, consultants etc.,) across the project
Responsible for preparing reports, budgets, monitoring and controlling costs and preparing forecasts for quality related functions on assigned project. Presenting findings and providing to the leadership team with recommended solutions and corrective actions
Participates in meetings and strategy sessions with the project management team, subcontractors and suppliers to identify quality requirements, deliverables and risks
Responsible for the project’s audit and assessment program to determine compliance with the project’s quality program. Monitors implementation of corrective measures
Participates in knowledge development and change management processes to promote continual improvement and innovation
Supports the project team by acting as a key technical contributor for complex issues, and aids in the timely development of plans to address and mitigate quality risks
Prepares, delivers and oversees technical training and support of quality procedures and tools as required by the project team, subcontractors and suppliers
Provide management support to assigned team members
May perform other related duties as assigned
Completion of post-secondary education with a related diploma, degree or trade certificate
8+ years of related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience
Previous experience in a Site Supervisor role an asset
Has detailed technical knowledge of codes and standards, regulatory requirements, construction practices, techniques and equipment that will be used on the project
Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form. Can easily communicate complex technical issues so that they can be understood by a less technically knowledgably audience
Strong computer skills in MS Office and the tools used in the application of quality management program(s)
Experience in explaining, influencing and presenting complex ideas while anticipating potential objections
Expertise in identifying issues and problems resolution, generating new solutions to complex problems
Has strong experience in process development and improvement
Creates formal and informal networks both internally and externally
Acts as a team leader, facilitator and mentor for the project’s quality group, managing their performance and providing development opportunities
