Job Summary

The Manager of Workforce Planning is responsible for interfacing with our clients on short term capacity management strategies, scheduling and deployments, forecasting, as well as overseeing a team of Resource Planning professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching and support to the Resource Planners to drive tactical resource plans that optimize resource utilization whilst balancing employee engagement and customer experience
• Develop and implement resource models to reflect the reality of the Field Operations business and support analysis and workforce strategy decisions
• Partner with Finance and Business Intelligence to ensure forecasting and planning models can be evaluated for accuracy and leveraged to support budgeting and financial planning
• Develop an overall tactical resource management approach for Field Operations to ensure effective and efficient operational execution across all the markets and customers we serve
• Work with the Resource Planners and Ledcor’s clients to develop standardized procedures and creative resource models to balance diverse needs
• Work in partnership with the Technical Training and Dispatch teams to determine optimal workflows and engineer capacity such that it supports a high degree of efficiency in our Field Operations teams
• Drive a holistic capacity planning approach to support all customers across Canadian Field Operations and US Field Operations including determining the optimal utilization of subcontractors by market and skill type
• Maintain communication with Regional Operations Directors to collect feedback on employee and business needs and revise and implement process to evolve the support model
• Assess new potential business to determine overall resource requirements and work with the Strategic Planner to determine integration plans into existing business
• Participate in the launch of new contracts supporting tactical deployment efforts for launch
• Oversee recruitment, retention and employee engagement efforts for all members of the planning team
• May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5 - 7 years of experience in Resource Planning, Workforce Management or related role
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and inspire a highly skilled team
• Previous experience in a service provider environment
• Completion of post-secondary education in Business Management or another related field
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills
• A self-starter with excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Ability to appreciate the big picture, but also be highly detailed when required
• Excellent customer service focus and team player
• Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
