You are a Senior Manager of Health, Safety and Environmental Protection who excels in partnering with all levels of the organization. You will mentor, coach, direct and supervise the project site HS&E managers, supervisors and professional HS&E employees in their work with the operations team to ensure effective application of the HS&E program. You will be a vital member of Ledcor Technical Services US Operations senior management team and will work to develop and enhance the HS&E culture within Ledcor.

Provides strategic operational leadership of HS&E in order for projects to achieve industry leading HS&E performance
Administer and report the proper HS&E metrics and measurements. Communicate HS&E progress, status, and issues to senior leaders; proactively build awareness through continuous communication strategies. Ensure compliance with conservation / environmental protection regulations
Ensures alignment is achieved between HS&E and operations through providing guidance on how HS&E objectives, expectations, processes and programs fit with operations objectives
Leads the operations personnel's understanding, compliance, effective execution and interpretation further taking action on the Ledcor “Leading Indicator,” competency, incident investigation and Core Management System (CMS) programs
Drive accountability among all functions to eliminate accidents and injuries; manage programs to achieve a high degree of engagement and ownership at the employee level
Manages the staffing, performance and development of HS&E employees. Coach and mentor safety professionals and other key staff to achieve professional growth and improved business performance
Provide leadership for the enforcement and continuous improvement of both new and existing HS&E programs, policies, and processes. Plan, direct, and subsequently implement new corporate policies, procedures, and standards at all applicable sites
Actively seek improved HSE practices through benchmarking and active participation in HS&E related seminars and organizations
Act as the primary interface with regulatory agencies on HS&E matters
Builds an environment that supports cooperation and cohesiveness among the work team and with other functional areas within the organization
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for documentation and reporting; conduct or oversee routine audits for all sites related to HS&E activities
Helps guide Ledcor relationship with clients related to HS&E
10+ years’ HSE experience in a field based role with 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial position – preferably in a Contractor organization or role
Experience in recognizing, evaluating, and recommending HS&E controls
Experience in establishing HS&E policies, practices and processes to drive world-class safety performance
Proven ability to lead a team of professionals and provide coaching and mentoring in order to increase group performance and bring out the best in people
Ability to foster candid, open and honest dialogue both within HS&E and with operations and senior management
Expert knowledge in health and safety management systems as well as experience in managing HS&E auditing programs
Possess or in pursuit of course work/certificates/other formal education/work experience in leading people and/or work groups
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
CSP or working towards the designation
A certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized OHS program
Must have good written and oral communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Frequent Travel will be required
