This role will be a key part of Ledcor’s multi-year HR transformation as we build out our service offering in the Communities of Expertise (COE), update our operating model, and introduce new HR/Service Centre technologies.

• Leads and manages the compensation and benefits functions to ensure Ledcor's total rewards strategies, structures and programs meet the business' needs and are market competitive while meeting regulatory requirements in both US and Canada
• Ensures effective delivery of annual programs, renewals and initiatives, including cost modeling and analysis of program changes to determine impact
• Oversees and manages broker / 3rd party relationships ensuring strong relationships and monitoring performance
• Leads job structure and evaluation process for non-Executive and Executive roles; delivers job leveling and benchmarking (internal/external), including building relevant tools/training to support
• Builds strong working partnerships with other HR team members, Payroll, Finance, and functional leadership to ensure the effective implementation of total rewards policies and programs
• Works closely with Labour Relations to provide analyses of total programs in support of the collective bargaining process as required
• Works closely with HR, Payroll, and the business to provide sound advice on total rewards decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation/benefit-related programs
• Leads and supports SME participation for total rewards area when it comes to any technology related projects
• Coaches and mentors compensation and benefits staff to ensure they are kept up to date on total rewards trends and initiatives, and a high level of service is provided to all clients; provides regular performance planning sessions and staff reviews
• Creates and supports Board and Executive presentations on total rewards topics as required


• 7+ years of experience working in, and managing a Total Rewards function for a large complex organization (preferably both Canada and US experience)
• Completion of a degree in Business, Finance or equivalent. CCP, GRP, CEBS or CBP considered an asset
• Experience with both US and Canada legislation as it relates to total rewards matters, including time off and leave management (FMLA, maternity leave, etc.)
• Experience and strong working knowledge of all US State and Federal rules and regulations (HIPAA, ERISA, ADA, ACA, etc.), including requirements around disability plans and remittances
• Experience in managing Canada and US benefit programs – including health and insurance plans, wellness, mental health, and retirement programs (RRSP in Canada, 401k in US)
• Previous experience managing compensation/benefits professionals; ability to coach and develop team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development
• Experience in employee mobility/international assignment programs/policy development and delivery
• Experience in using and/or helping implement an HRIS system, including specifically compensation and/or benefit modules
• Advanced Excel skills with a strong analytical ability
• Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, to ensure that business outcomes are being achieved
• Strong project leadership skills
