Job Summary

You are an experienced helicopter pilot seeking an opportunity to apply your skills in a leadership role. As Chief Pilot, you will be responsible for managing all pilots within Summit Helicopters under the direction of the Operations Manager. You will oversee the activities of Summit Helicopters pilots in accordance with the company operations manual and Transport Canada regulatory requirements.

• Oversee the professional and technical standards of the flight crews under his/her authority
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
• Develop and/or implement all required approved training programs for the air operator flight crews
• Issue directives and notices to the flight crews as required
• Oversee the operational suitability and requirements of all aerodromes and routes served by the air operator
• Action and distribute accident, incident, and other occurrence reports
• Process and action any flight crew reports
• Assume any responsibilities delegated by the Operations Manager
• May perform other related duties as assigned


• Valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (Unrestricted)
• Current and valid Group IV Instrument Rating & Night Rating
• Minimum 3000 hours pilot in command time
• Minimum 5 years mountain flying experience
• Bell 412 endorsement with minimum 100 hours on type
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Bell 206, Bell 407 endorsements an asset
• Heli-ski experience an asset
• NVG experience and/or knowledge an asset
• Pilot Flight or CRM trainer experience an asset
• University degree is not required but is considered an asset
• Previous experience in marketing or business development highly preferred
• Strong management, leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
• Self-starter with excellent organizational and planning skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting
