Flight Program Manager

You are an experienced aviation professional with a background in flight following and/or dispatch. In the role of Flight Program Manager, Alberta, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of the Summit Air bases in both Edmonton and Calgary, controlling day-to-day operations and liaising with the Operational Control Centre regarding all aspects of dispatching charter flights that originate in Alberta.

Oversee the smooth running of all Alberta base operations, managing service level agreements with service providers, including Fixed Base Operators (FBO’s) and catering
Manage positive and collaborative operational relations with customers, FBO’s, suppliers, and external stakeholders such as airport authorities
Anticipate problems, provide advice, and take proactive actions to minimize/mitigate issues, inform appropriate person/services for flights delays, cancellations, or other emergencies
Ensure information is passed on and communicated quickly to Operational Control Centre to ensure administrative, logistic and hospitality support
Monitor weather in preparation for irregular operations (IROPS)
Develop, implement and exercise hospitality plans (specific to customer requirements) for passengers during IROPS
Ensure contingency plans are developed that make necessary arrangements for customers, crews and flight recovery. Execute these contingency plans when required
Manage IROPS with Operational Control Centre Manager, Crew Scheduler, Maintenance, Flight Operations or other appropriate departments or personnel
Reports KPI’s or other operational reports
Take initiative, and manage projects to improve functionality, as necessary
May perform additional related tasks as assigned
Minimum 2 years of flight following/dispatch experience
Post-secondary education in business administration, aviation management, or a related field would be an asset
Previous experience in account management an asset
Previous experience in a leadership role
Familiarity with Transport Canada and/or aviation-related technical manuals and documents
Proven proficiency in the MS Office suite
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to resolve conflict
Outstanding customer service skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
Confident decision making and effective problem solving skills, with the ability to have a perspective on the big picture
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
Must perform on call during designated periods; overtime may be required with or without notice
Some travel to other offices and bases may be required
