Job Summary

You are an Accountant working towards your designation, with a minimum of 3 years’ full cycle accounting experience. You will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties such as generating monthly journal entries, fixed asset accounting, manual audit support, account reconciliations and analysis, and GST/PST returns preparation and filing.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate accounting and adherence to corporate policies for Ledcor’s property, and fleet of vehicles and equipment
• Generates and compiles monthly financial reports for various operating units
• Assists with financial statement preparation and year-end audit requirements, and prepares annual audit working papers and supporting documentation
• Reviews or performs monthly data integrity checks and balancing reports for GL, AR and AP, correcting where required
• Reviews GST and PST returns and assists with sales tax audits
• Prepares and enters journal entries in JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system
• Ensures accounting deadlines and cutoff schedules are followed
• Reviews bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Assists in the implementation and testing of ERP system upgrades
• Assists with month-end job cost accounting and percentage of completion accounting
• Performs general ledger account reconciliations and analysis on a regular basis
• Assists with ad-hoc financial analysis and new duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment
• Post-secondary business degree; pursuing or completed an accounting designation
• Good working knowledge of all MS Office programs; high level of proficiency in MS Excel is required
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
• Relevant industry and fixed asset experience is desirable
• Experience with JDE and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) an asset
