Job Summary

You are an experienced Engineering Manager with expertise in Outside Plant (OSP) design and engineering for FTTx, Long Haul and Middle Mile projects or Utility Infrastructure. You will lead the Design & Engineering function with a focus driving innovation, and leading a team of highly skilled designers and engineers.

• Formulate, develop and implement strategies for sustainable business unit growth, focusing initially on OSP communications Design & Engineering for FTTx, Long Haul and Middle Mile projects
• Ensure all safety, quality, contract delivery of projects are effectively managed
• Implement continuous improvement strategies for the business unit offerings and performance
• Ensure the division meets defined internal and external scorecard metrics and other targets for quality, schedule and budget
• Use a variety of design tools, and collaborate across the entire value chain including Design, GIS, Project Management and Construction
• Monitor technological advances, emerging opportunities and trends in the sector
• Build and maintains business unit resources (internal and external) at level required to deliver forecast of book of business annually
• Ensure ongoing employee development and engagement within business unit through implementation of Ledcor employee performance development and management programs
• Work closely with Ledcor HSE professionals to ensure Ledcor's Corporate safety program and policies are appropriately implemented across the business unit


• 5+ years of related work experience with Outside Plant communications or utility infrastructure Design/Engineering
• Completed post-secondary education in Telecom, Engineering or related discipline
• Strong interpersonal skills to grow & enhance strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to plan and organize service delivery team workloads for multiple project deadlines and quality standards
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong existing relationships within communications/utility infrastructure engineering sector and a solid understanding of typical client core values
• Demonstrated leadership in innovation related to areas such as: business process, service delivery methods and technology application
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements

Work Conditions

• 20% travel required within the US and Canada
