Job Summary

You are a senior leader that would be responsible for the field operations of our Alberta region, for our Ledcor's Technical Services Division (“LTS”). In this role you would report to the Vice President of field operations, and would be responsible for implementing the western Canadian field operations strategy throughout the front line teams and helping LTS realize its vision of being the premier Technical Services organization in Canada. This is a critical leadership role and you will be accountable for the leadership of Field Supervisors and all Field Technicians in their region.

• Building and leading a high performance team in the delivery of services to customers throughout Alberta
• Coaching Field Supervisors and enable them to improve operational results, cost and service, while developing high levels of employee and customer satisfaction
• Manage all of the operations work force in the assigned region
• Reporting related to operational results against defined customer SLAs and KPIs for your region
• In partnership with LTS’ resource planning and training teams, maximize the utilization of field technicians
• Ensure that work is of the highest quality and all operational performance metrics are met or exceeded
• Ensure that the occupational safety and health program elements are implemented, maintained and fulfilled as prescribed within the LTS field manual
• Be accountable for regional profit and loss statements and manage regional costs to established budget forecasts
• Develop plans and processes for continuous improvement relative to business and operations KIP's that enable the operations group to be more efficient
• Develop lasting business relationships with clients and work to ensure that they view the Field Operations group at LTS

In addition to the skills and experience listed above, the ideal candidate will possess:

• The temperament to deal with unpredictable and constant change
• The confidence and experience to lead “start-up” environments in to best of breed organizations
• The relational skills and savvy to manage client relationships
• The willingness to help in any capacity for the sake of achieving the organization’s objectives


• 10 or more years of leadership experience in the Telecommunications field or in a related industry
• Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated change management skills in a large multi-departmental organization
• Proved record of demonstrating past success in customer fulfillment operations, planning, and strategy development/implementation
• Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas, project and process concepts with ease and clarity from field technicians to executives
• Experience managing a flexible workforce, required to work non-traditional work hours and holidays
• Experience improving organizational effectiveness, optimizing workflow and executing on strategic goals
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills in applying a methodical approach to problem resolution
• Demonstrated budget expertise and financial control skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven record of team building, coaching and cultural transformation
• Proven client management, sales leadership or business development experience
• Technical knowledge of common Communications or Construction practices, techniques and equipment, including experience at the field/project level
• Capability to work productively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Strong safety record and demonstrated experience of working within an established and advanced Health and Safety program

Work Conditions

• Travel will be required
• An ability to work a flexible schedule as required is a definite plus
