Job Summary

You are a Survey Manager who has extensive experience in a fast paced, dynamic, pipeline construction environment. As the Survey Manager for a major pipeline project, you will supervise a team of third-party surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Advises, ensures and is responsible for creation and implementation of surveying plan on project site
• Responsible for managing third party surveyors to execute survey plan
• Represents Ledcor at client meetings ensuring timelines are met and address any change management issues with relation to field execution
• Develops strong client relationships, manages client expectations and ensures land survey project deliverables, schedules and budget objectives are met
• Supervises day-to-day layout and tasks in accordance of project design and ensure measurement of correct distances
• Ensures maintenance of up to date and accurate as-built drawings
• Leads implementation and monitoring of the quality control, safety and environment programs
• Coaches, assists and supports operations to understand client surveying needs
• Applies expertise to solve problems within the survey plan
• Resolves day-to-day or routine issues through immediate actions or short-term planning within defined processes
• Able to manage difficult issues and obtain agreement as needed

Requirements

• 10 + year's experience in survey management
• Large-scale pipeline construction (100 kms+) experience required
• Experience managing sub-contractors
• Ability to understand owner requirements in entirety
• Ability to manage a group of subcontractor surveyors
• Strong working knowledge of complex surveyor's tools and associated GPS equipment
• Previous experience of survey standards is required
• Graduated from a recognized drafting, architectural, engineering or construction management program
• Able to influence work planning and execution by field / operations people
• Enjoys working hard - is action oriented and can be counted on to exceed goals successfully
• Identifies opportunities to improve - sees them as challenges to overcome
• Dedicated to meeting requirements of internal and external customers - acts with customers in mind
• Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements

Work Conditions

• Edmonton based during pre-construction phase
• On-site in BC during construction
• This role requires working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
• Applicants that reside in Alberta or British Columbia will be given preference due to the location of this project
