You are an experienced, service-oriented Trades Recruiter who thrives in a multi-disciplined environment where attention to detail, multiple touch points, and a sense of urgency compel you to do more. You will play a pivotal role in assessing the competencies of new hires for our hourly workforce, coordinate a series of onboarding requirements, and execute targeted sourcing strategies to build our business.

Drives hiring plan discussions and recruitment activities for a wide range of trades-related positions which expand across Western Canada
Designs and develops customized job descriptions that present Ledcor externally as an employer of choice
Develops and identifies a customized sourcing strategy by position to create a strong pool of candidates, including: website postings, various job boards/networking sites, union referrals, advertising, database mining, cold calling, networking, career fairs, social media and other sources
Creates prescreens based on competency assessment and site specific conditions, and makes informed recommendations
Contacts and screens a high volume of candidates to verify work experience and credentials, including Journeyperson and Apprenticeship status
Manages candidate status through the use of our applicant tracking system, documenting all communication and activity regarding the candidate
Administers Ledcor’s Drug and Alcohol program through our third party vendor
Confirms validity of safety certifications and arranges additional training when required
Coordinates and facilitates candidate travel and accommodation booking with site representatives
Facilitates the hiring process of our network of external referrals in an urgent and professional manner, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Understands current and future manpower requirements by interfacing and communicating directly with Ledcor site representatives
3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar recruitment role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Post-secondary education in business and/or human resources preferred
Proven computer skills and previous experience using an applicant tracking system preferred
Understanding of collective agreements and associated amendments is an asset
Exceptional communication and telephone skills, with the ability to build rapport while conducting a high volume of daily calls
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow through on assigned tasks
Excellent organizational and execution skills, and the ability to work in a high volume, dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic, action-oriented team
Ability to travel to various site based projects if needed
This position is a temporary, full-time position for 12 months
