The Quality Coordinator assists the Quality Manager, and collaborates with other project team members to implement the quality program on assigned projects. They will use specialized technical knowledge, and their operational experience to provide assistance and guidance when planning work, executing construction (self-performed and/or subcontracted) and closing out a completed project.

Implements the Project Quality Plan (PQP), and it’s related quality processes, procedures and tools
Supports the Quality Manager with reviews of the quality program’s implementation, and contributes to and/or produces reports containing observations and findings with respect to the project’s compliance
Assists the Quality Manager with reviews and revisions of the quality plan, and it’s processes and procedures
Assists with the development of inspection and test plans (ITPs) by identifying project requirements, communicating this information to the project team, and actively participating in the development of these documents
Participates in the non-conformance process when the work (i.e., workmanship, materials, procedures etc.,) does not meet the project’s requirementsProduces complete, accurate and timely quality records that demonstrate the project’s compliance with contractual requirements
Understands the project’s closeout and turnover requirements, compiling and submitting the required documents and communicating their importance to other members of the project team
Works directly with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure quality submittals are complete, submitted in a timely fashion and satisfy project requirements
Participates in administrative and recordkeeping activities to ensure quality documentation is filed, archived and retrievable throughout the project
Understands and managing budgets, monitoring and controlling costs and preparing forecasts for quality related functions on assigned projects
Participates in meetings and strategy sessions with the project management team, subcontractors, and suppliers to identify quality requirements, deliverables and risks
Prepares and provides quality related input for work plans compliant with project requirements
Participates in the project’s audit and assessment program to determine compliance with the project’s quality program
Assists with the implementation of corrective measures
Supports the project team by researching technical and complex issues, and developing work plans to address and mitigate quality risks
Completion of post-secondary education with a related diploma, degree or trade certificate
3 to 5 years of related work experience, or combination of relevant education and experience, Site Supervisor experience an asset
Technical knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and standards, regulatory requirements, modern construction practices, techniques and equipment
Strong computer background including experience with MS Office and the tools used in the application of quality management program(s)
Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
Easily communicate technical issues so that they can be understood by a less technically knowledgably audience
Team player, works to build relationships with all members of the project team
Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
This position will be office and field based within Chicago, IL and surrounding suburbs
