Job Summary

You are an experienced Procurement Manager with pipeline knowledge who will manage procurement, subcontracts, and all aspects of material handling including logistics. Duties may encompass planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing, procurement, inventory management and logistics management.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages supplier relationships in order to achieve superior supplier performance, negotiating commercial terms to deliver best value solutions, and the measurement/reporting of the value delivered
• Develops and maintains knowledge of the relevant supply market information
• Develops a negotiation strategy that delivers against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers
• Works closely with project leads while initiating, negotiating and managing subcontractor terms and conditions, to ensure each lead’s unique requirements and business needs are addressed.
• Acts as lead for special requirements such as formal requests for quotation or project kick-off
• Develops and performs audits for the application of procurement processes to ensure consistency across all projects
• Ensures site safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
• Provides clear direction to team members and distributes workload to capitalize on individual and group strengths while ensuring balanced exposure to work experience and development opportunities
• Works with contracts team to ensure all requirements from prime contract are reflected in subcontract agreements

Requirements

• 20+ years of combined education and experience in the delivery and management of an procurement program
• Business Related Degree or Technical Degree
• Knowledge of supply chain, inventory, production, warehousing, transport and logistics
• Strong understanding and ability to negotiate contractual terms
• Understanding of quality improvement tools and techniques
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Enjoys working hard - is action oriented and can be counted on to exceed goals successfully
• Identifies opportunities to improve and sees them as challenges to overcome
• Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements

Work Conditions

• This role is Edmonton based however travel to the field will be required
• This role requires occasionally working outdoors in various weather conditions
• This role requires occasional on-call work
• Applicants that reside in Alberta or British Columbia will be given preference due to the location of this project
