Job Summary

You are a proactive CPA professional who has experience working in the real estate development industry. You are a quick learner, with strong analytical and problem solving skills, and capable of managing multiple priorities. As Accounting Manager, you will be working with a “boutique” group of professionals who have a passion for developing real estate. Your primary responsibilities will be to manage the consolidated financial reporting, annual audit and budget process, as well as creating cash flow analysis.

This is a 15 month maternity leave contract position, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) for the Ledcor Properties division
• Manage the accounting system (JD Edwards and Hyperion), coordinate business unit setup and record journal entries as required
• Manage the annual audit process
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, and perform analysis as required
• Assist in the preparation of cash flow projections
• Work with third party property managers to ensure prompt and accurate monthly reporting
• Collaborate with various other Ledcor divisions including Corporate, Taxation, and Legal to coordinate exchange of information and reporting
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive, relevant senior-level Accountant work experience within a complex and dynamic organization; minimum three years of related professional experience in the real estate industry is preferred
• Significant experience working with GAAP/ASPE and complex consolidation accounting
• Professional CPA designation
• Experience in preparing audit package and working with auditors
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel and Word
• JD Edwards and Hyperion experience is an asset
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent planning and organizing skills, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
