Job Summary

You are a Dispatcher or Flight Follower who is dedicated to building your career in the aviation industry. Working with the dynamic Flight Operations team, you will oversee the scheduling and dispatching of all Summit aircraft, ensuring that all aspects of the flights are in accordance with company procedures.

• Follow progress of each flight from initial departure, to final destination
• Schedules and oversight of all aircraft fleet and send trip sheets to Dispatch
• Collect weather and runway conditions for Flight Crew and Flight Operations management, report changes as required
• Provide consistent customer contact confirming trips and flight details, ensuring customer requirements are met, updates on flight status and scheduling trips
• Look after any hotel, parking, handling, catering or special requests for upcoming trips
• Ensure compliance with company policies and Transport Canada regulations
• Review Operational Flight Plans, load sheets, Dangerous Good’s for completeness and accuracy. Distribute as appropriate to crew, clients, flight operations or dispatch
• Review post flight packages, flight logs, crew activities and all pertinent information
• Brief flight crews and ground operations on upcoming trip schedule and prior to departure with information trip information an essential to aviation safety
• Contact crew prior to flights to ensure awareness of upcoming flight schedule
• Delay or cancel flights as warranted
• Manage and update charter logs, flight and flight duty times, pilot availability reports, and inspection schedules
• Co-sign flight authorizations, complete trip sheet and flight packages
• Liaise with Charter Sales team for client requests, or operational issues effecting customer service
• Review reports, run crew or various other reports as required
• Ensure information is passed on and communicated quickly to internal departments, customers, FBOs or suppliers
• Monitor weather in preparation for irregular operations (IROPS)
• May perform other related duties as assigned


• 2+ years of experience in a flight following or dispatching role or similar position required
• Completion of relevant post-secondary education preferred
• Valid Air Operator Radio License required
• Completion of Transport Canada Flight Dispatch Generic Exams an asset
• Analytical and organized, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proven experience in a fast-paced environment
• Northern experience an asset

Work Conditions

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screening; this role is also subject to random drug and alcohol screening
• Must be willing to relocate to Yellowknife (relocation assistance not provided for this role)
• Shift work will be required
