• Compile, enter and balance all financial and cost data reported by operations management related to product procurement, production, shipping and sales
• Prepare and provide daily/weekly costing related to multiple projects, including reporting on daily/weekly product movement and closing stock at multiple locations
• Provide pricing estimates to support proposals for new contracts, and other business development initiatives
• Prepare accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial forecasts/flash reports supporting operational KPIs
• Responsible for month end close, including the preparation of all month end journal entries, variance analysis and management financial reporting
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts to General Ledger to assess reasonability of accruals; review with management and make adjustments as required
• Complete operational budgets and rolling forecasts in an accurate and timely manner
• Reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts
• Process payroll for related business divisions
• Lead, mentor and supervise one direct report (Operations Administrator)
• Take on special projects and perform other duties as assigned


• Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting
• Post-secondary education in the field of accounting
• Experience in providing pricing estimates for business development initiatives and proposals
• Demonstrated operations accounting experience with well-rounded knowledge of standard accounting concepts and practices, including internal controls
• Experience with operational budgeting and forecasting, as well as variance analysis
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with expert knowledge of Excel
• Advanced computer skills using accounting software; familiarity with JD Edwards or similar ERP system would be an asset
• Strong analytical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing with operations personnel and leadership, and providing timely information and feedback as required
• Above average time management skills, with an ability to juggle competing priorities
• Commitment to continuous improvement, and excellent customer service

Work Conditions

• Regular travel to our Fraser Valley office will be required
