Job Summary

You're an experienced Lead Hand who’s familiar with all aspects of cathodic protection installation work on pipelines. You will be a hands-on, detail oriented Lead, running a small crew of 4-5 people, and working alongside Subcontractors, Inspectors, and Project managers. You will be responsible for coordinating front line supervision of various maintenance and construction activities relating to pipeline cathodic protection systems.

Join the Ledcor Industrial Maintenance team in Swift Current, SK today! This opportunity is expected to last from June until August 2017 or project completion. Applicants from Alberta and Saskatchewan will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs front line supervision of cathodic protection installation work, including excavation, line locating, exposing lines/cables, staking, and installation of anodes, cables, junction boxes etc., while managing and utilizing subcontractors
• Prepares and deliver work instructions and safety meetings to the crew at the start of daily shifts
• Promote Ledcor safety culture
• Apply drawings to the task at hand and verify their accuracy
• Ensure the quality of the job meets or exceeds client specifications
• Communicates work progress, schedule variance, crew and safety performance to site Supervision, Project Manager, Inspectors, and others on a daily basis
• Responsible for completing and submitting daily progress reports, work tickets, safety documentation, and other paperwork
• Resolves work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
• Prepare as-built drawings and closeout documentation upon the completion of the job
• Ensure materials are ordered and delivered as required
• May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have a minimum 10 years’ experience on pipeline construction projects related to cathodic protection
• Must have experience overseeing and directing crews
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and stand for extended periods of times
• Must have or be working towards getting their NACE CP1 Certification
• Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Must possess and maintain a clean driver’s abstract and valid driver's license
• Proficiency with basic computer skills including e-mail, word and excel
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Must be possess strong problem solving skills

Work Conditions

• Applicants that reside in the Swift Current, SK and surrounding area will be given preference due to the location of this project
• 11/3 shift rotation working 10-12 hours/day
• Must be flexible working varying shift rotations
• Extensive travel required in Saskatchewan and to various project locations
