Job Summary

You are an experienced Pipeline Superintendent with experience supporting mainline pipeline construction projects. You will be responsible for supporting the execution and completion of large scale pipeline construction projects. Another key responsibility will be to ensure construction operations are performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership in the application of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors
• Develops, maintains and drives the construction schedule in conjunction with the project and operations team to ensure budgets and timelines are met
• Ensures operations are well organized and coordinated and comply with client specifications and regulatory requirements
• Maintains strong working relationships with client representatives, subcontractors, suppliers and labour force
• Oversees project reporting that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information
• Strategically plans and implements manpower levels and material quantities and ensures proper equipment and trades are available as required
• Assumes leadership role and provides guidance to field supervisors in order to contribute to their development and career growth; including conducting performance reviews and identifying training needs
• Works with the field operations supervision to identify and select qualified field personnel
• Assumes a leadership role and provides guidance to project team members in order to contribute to their development and career growth

Requirements

• 10+ years of mainline pipeline construction experience.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Project Manager or similar direct supervisory role
• Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
• Understanding of construction documents and the ability to ensure that they are complete, protect the owner’s interest, clearly define expectations and provide incentive to perform
• Contract negotiation/management skills
• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets
• A strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals
• Able to focus on developing long term partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure our contributions to their continuing success and to maximize long term gains
• Influence strategic and other issues which effect business internally and externally
• Influence client and/or organizational leadership to accomplish operational objectives
• Act as a facilitator and mentor in extremely complex or interdependent projects
• Anticipate problems or challenges; and propose innovative solutions and ensure solutions consistent with organization objectives

Work Conditions

• You will be expected to work various schedules based on the project requirements
• Local based position, must reside or be willing to relocate to the Lower Mainland
