Job Summary

You are an experienced Subcontracts Coordinator who supports large multifaceted construction projects. As the Subcontracts Coordinator you prepare bid packages and manage the subcontractor solicitation and evaluation process. Additionally, you work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders in managing subcontractor selection and handling the entire process end-to-end.

• Conduct the prequalification and evaluation of subcontractors
• Maintain a database of preferred subcontractors
• Responsible for the bid solicitation process
• Review of requisitions and scope of work to be subcontracted with Bid Captain
• Prepare and issue RFQ documentation
• Ensure prime contract terms along with safety, security and quality requirements are reflected in subcontract RFQ’s
• Contact trades and suppliers regarding invitations, pricing, addenda and tender/bid closings
• Manage all correspondence during bid period
• Receive and evaluate all subcontractor bids Prepare bid tabulation and review with Bid Captain
• Participate in handoff meeting with project team
• Assist with subtrade buyout
• Provide input to the estimating team on all subcontract matters
• Review bid/tender documents and assess potential subcontractor risks and opportunities
• May perform other related duties as assigned


• Minimum 3 years’ of related estimating and subcontracts management experience
• Completion of post-secondary education with a diploma or degree related to Construction Management, Estimating, Engineering,
• Commerce or other related education
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of subcontract RFQ process
• Understanding of construction documents and the ability to assess the level of subcontract quotation completeness
• Experience with negotiations in a construction environment
• Strong computer background including experience with MS Office
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability of adapting information/style to audience
• Ability to identify problems/issues, look beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications and generate possible solutions

Work Conditions

• Employees will be expected to work various schedules based on the project requirements
• Local based position, must reside or be willing to relocate to the Lower Mainland
