Your are recognized as an expert and leader in the field of HSE. You have the flexibility and experience to build standards that will work in the varied and multiple work environments across Ledcor.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an internal consultant to Ledcor senior leaders in HSE topics and on broad cross-functional HSE program and learning/competency issues
• Provides mentorship and leadership to HSE Coordinators in developing HSE standards
• Analyzes and understands ambiguities and recommends positive actions on HSE standards, learning and competency matters
• Interprets underlying issues and leads a team to develop and implement effective solutions
• Provides tactical and strategic individual leadership on HSE safe work methods, including definition, development, implementation and use
• Provides leadership to cross functional or cross division teams to enhance Ledcor’s HSE, learning and competency program and performance
• Leverages internal and external resources and expertise to develop focused HSE standards for use across all of Ledcor’s divisions and business units
• Seeks the knowledge and understanding of all company codes of business conduct, HSE practices, learning and competency standards and a high level understanding and knowledge of HSE procedures and processes across Ledcor divisions
• Collaborates with Ledcor’s Operational and HSE teams building process to drive operational excellence
• Has advanced communication skills, a high results orientation, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to lead a team of specialists
• Understands business drivers and business strategy and how performance can impact strategy
• Develop HSE processes after review of corporate safety management system and best practices of industry
• Recommend necessary changes to be made to the existing HSE Management System in comparison to international HSEMS
• Support in implementing and auditing of HSE program
• Design, develop, and facilitate training and presentations

Requirements

• 10+ year's relevant industry Health and Safety experience
• Degree/Diploma in OHS or related discipline
• Education and demonstrated experience in building HSE processes and ensuring successful implementation
• Experience in leadership and managing the work of a team
• CRSP, CSP, CMSP, or other related HSE (CIH ROH) designation is preferred
• Possesses expert technical knowledge of HSE Management, Learning and Competency systems
• Possesses extensive knowledge in the HSE area and provides a high level of strategic and tactical advice to leaders and managers
• Takes independent action when required
• Capable of collaborating to support any of Ledcor’s groups or divisions
• Is a role model of Ledcor values and ethics
• Excels at developing and enhancing the Ledcor HSE program and processes
• Capable of providing expert level HSE advice, guidance and strategy development
• Is the model of collaboration and positive team dynamic
• Capable of taking on difficult assignments
• Must be able to deal with ambiguity
• Timely decision making
• Is a resource for Ledcor to address situations where immediate decisions are required for various Ledcor, client and regulatory requirements
• Interprets for Ledcor, various underlying issues and leads teams to new and novel solutions
• Expert listening skills

• Must have perseverance
• Leads Ledcor to world class performance in HSE, Learning and Competency through individual contributions; willing and able to take difficult assignments and lead Ledcor to new levels
