Job Summary

You are an adept and hands on Application Development professional with experience leading technology professionals through various software development projects. As the Application Development Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Business Analysts and Programmer Developers working with multiple technologies, providing leadership and mentorship to all direct reports. A major component of the position will be to build and maintain solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as the primary liaison in the development, implementation, upgrading and maintenance of application solutions across the enterprise.

• Leads a team of IT Development professionals and provides them with the necessary guidance to take positive action and accountability for their assigned responsibilities
• Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple software development projects
• Participates in long term applications strategy setting and roadmap
• Develops, grows and maintains internal business relationships vital to the success of assigned projects and maintains a thorough knowledge of the organization's operational priorities
• Fosters a collaborative environment of ongoing learning and mentorship and inspires the team to succeed through individual coaching and team building
• Handles support escalations to supplement the team’s offering to the business
• Partners with technology vendors of choice to strengthen business to business relationships
• Oversees the design, development and testing of Windows and web-based applications that enhance productivity and meet business unit technology requirements
• Works with Business Analysts and Programmer Developers to develop functional specifications that fulfill operational needs
• Fully participates in QA cycles performing unit & end-to-end testing prior to final sign off
• Assists in the coordination of projects across multiple IT Business and IT teams
• Conducts technology orientation sessions for the team and provides new employees with the know-how of systems and technology
• Conducts performance reviews and ensures professional development plans are achieved for the team
• Assists in the development and maintenance of standard procedures, manuals and technology policies
• Performs periodic audits to ensure IT policies and procedures are adhered to
• Manages all change control procedures as defined by established policies
• May perform other related duties as assigned


• Strong working knowledge of .NET and MS SQL technology
• 5+ years of experience supervising Application or Software Development Teams
• 5-7 years of experience in the field of business analysis and/or technology project management
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering, or equivalent years of professional experience in a relevant field
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional development project teams
• Proven ability to effectively manage direct reports, providing mentorship and opportunities for development and growth
• Proven business acumen, and the ability to develop strong working relationships with business unit decision-makers and IS managers
• Ability to understand business unit requirements and convert them into technology solutions
• Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills and demonstrated abilities to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and persuade others
• Strong project management methodology, with a proven ability to manage project budgets
• Flexible to work in after-hour emergency situations as needed
• Successful completion of a criminal background check
• Experience in a large, diverse enterprise environment preferred

Work Conditions

• Office based position
• Some travel will be required to site and/or office locations within North America
