Job Summary

You are an experienced Project Controller with 3+ years of experience, proficient in managing the financial control system for projects, through the preparation of numerous cost reports, monitoring and commitment to budget and forecast. You will be required to analyze financials, productivity/utilization, and other project indicators providing concise reporting to management, project teams, and other stakeholders. You will be required to regularly interface with project managers, contractors, and other project team members in order to maintain accurate, updated information on project cost/budgets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial and management reporting
• Prepare monthly management review presentation and variance analysis
• Develop a detailed understanding of the project contract to ensure all parties are meeting the required obligations
• Understand and support all aspects of the daily operations for the project accounting team including invoicing, accounts payables and accounts receivables
• Mentor, develop and manage direct reports
• Develop and maintain key metrics to support the project team and management
• Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Prepare working papers and assist with annual audit Requirements
for the project
• Assist with other financial and regulatory reporting
• Assist with process review and improvement

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years progressive, relevant work experience in a similar role within a complex, and dynamic organization
• Completed post-secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration or Finance is an asset
• Operational construction project experience a strong asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with a diverse group of internal and external individuals
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reposts
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to identify issues and interpret and apply accounting policies
• High standard of performance, ability to work in ambiguity and complexities, with strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Strong MS Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Proficiency in JD Edwards (or a similar large ERP system) an asset
• Previous supervisory experience an asset
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol Requirements
