Job Summary

As Document Control Manager, you will lead the document control process and execution for an Oil & Gas EPC program. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing policies and procedures, as well as creating systems to establish document management best practices across an OIL & Gas EPC program.

• Sets policies and procedures as well as creating system(s) to establish document management best practices across the EPC program
• Implements a document management department and system in line with the needs of the EPC program
• Leads a document control team and provides effective direction and motivation to the document control team
• Ensures sufficient staffing numbers to maintain efficient and timely processing of documentation
• Ensures all document management equipment (hardware, software, etc) is maintained
• Maintains and manages a document control budget
• Develops and implements work processes and procedures such as Engineering Document Control, Correspondence Control, Contract or Vendor Data Management, Standards Management, Project Standards and Document Numbering
• Designs and implements detailed work instructions to support the approved procedures and supervise/influence the day-to-day activities of document management staff
• Works closely with various groups within the EPC structure to ensure they achieve maximum efficiency in document handling
• Oversees document control set-up to interface with the client system
• Implements training programs to ensure EPC project team is familiar with the process
• Works with client database to process documents
• Builds and maintains a trusting relationship with Client, Subcontractors and Suppliers
• May perform other duties as required


• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Document Control Field with at least 5 years’ experience in a lead document control role
• Completion of post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline
• Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to build and foster effective relationships
• Demonstrated experience with leading and mentoring a team
• Strong computer background including experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and, Visio and SharePoint
• Strong EDMS skills, including systems such as SharePoint, TeamBinder, Acconex, M-Files, etc
• Proactive, self-motivated and results oriented with a strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities

• Applicants that reside in the Greater Vancouver area will be given preference due to the location of this project
