Job Summary

As Construction Manager you will be responsible for the planning and day to day operations of construction projects within the US Mining division. You will provide technical and operational direction to project superintendents and construction engineers and be a key on-site liaison with client representatives, subcontractors and suppliers. As Construction Manager, you will ensure appropriate staffing levels and provides supervision and guidance to site employees.

Responsibilities

• Ensures construction operations are well organized and coordinated and comply with client and regulatory Requirements

• Ensures project meets budget and timelines by reviewing work Requirements
, schedules and cost reports on a continuous basis and participates in project reviews and forecasting
• Analyzes technical construction issues and develops solutions to address issues
• Coordinates all resource Requirements
for projects including personnel, equipment, materials, etc.
• Maintains strong working relationships at job sites with client representatives, subcontractors, suppliers and labour force
• Recruits and selects qualified field personnel
• Supervises personnel and addresses staff development Requirements
including conducting performance reviews and identifying training needs
• Ensures strict adherence to all safety programs and policies
• Supports Ledcor’s core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success
• Some involvement in estimating and tender document preparation
• May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 8+ years of construction experience as a Construction Manager or similar direct supervisory role
• Technical Diploma, Engineering Degree, or equivalent work experience
• Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes
• Solid understanding of current construction practices
• Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, contracts, costs, and budgets
• Strong working knowledge of scheduling and project management
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders needs, and identify solutions
• Capable of anticipating constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule; can influence and persuade others to adopt a point of view
• Facilitation and mentoring skills—ability to move the team forward and resolve conflict situations
• A track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivating, coaching, and consensus-building
• Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook. Familiarity with scheduling software

Work Conditions

• Project based work, must be open to working in various locations
• Site based role, rotational shift will be assigned
