Job Summary

You are a Construction Commercial Manager overseeing all activities of finance & accounting, risk & claims management, and project controls (including cost analysis, scheduling & field project controls) functions of a large OSP fiber construction project.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight in the execution of systems and policies that are critical to the success of the project in meeting its goals and objectives
• Ensure the appropriate tools and systems are in place to provide critical financial and operational information to project stakeholders and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations
• Review, coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and project controls including budgeting, cash management and earned value reporting
• Oversee the financial and risk management operations of the project, including the update of the project financial strategy, policies and procedures
• Coach, mentor and oversee the day-to-day Finance & Accounting, Risk Management, and Project Controls departments as required
• Establish and implement short and long term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
• Coordinate the preparation of monthly Management or Executive-level meeting reports and agendas, official minutes and follow-up on action items recorded
• Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs
• Prepare and sign-off on all financial statement reports, schedules and analyses at monthly, quarterly and annual intervals as required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive work experience in construction finance & controls including 5+ years of senior management/leadership responsibility on projects greater than $250M
• Must have strong knowledge of accounting and administrative concepts in construction operations with preference given to those having experience in Public-Private-Partnership (P3) projects
• Strong leadership, communication and strategic planning skills essential
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Experience creating and managing budgets
• High level of integrity, confidentially and accountability
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar large ERP is preferred
• Strong MS Office skills in Excel, Word, Outlook
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Proactive, self-motivated, problem solver and results oriented
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements


Work Conditions

• Office based position
• 10% travel within the US
