Job Summary

You are an Operations Controller with 5+ years’ experience. In this position you will be supporting service based businesses and working with Project Controllers and Business Managers providing financial analysis and reporting support to business operations.

• Prepare monthly business unit statements, financial review information and annual business unit budgets
• Assist in the development of divisional budgets, business plans and provide support to business leadership throughout the process
• Assist business unit leaders in development and updating of business forecasts, and costing structures
• Responsible for leading and developing individuals within the field services accounting teams
• Accountable for accounts receivable status: lead the billing team, manage invoice creation, invoice disputes, client collection
• Understand and support implementation of cost control and forecasting systems
• Support new business acquisition through modeling pricing scenarios, impacts to costs of adding new customers and lines of business
• Assist staff with daily process issues and process improvement, ensuring adequate internal controls are in place
• Provide analysis and support to senior leadership to ensure understanding of business unit statements and financial implications of business decisions
• Perform monthly divisional profit / revenue recognition
• Development and analysis of monthly revenue and cost reporting and forecasts


• 5 + years of Controller experience supporting services based businesses in a supervisory position leading a finance team
• Previous experience supporting construction, telecommunications services or utilities industries an asset
• Professional accounting designation, or working towards a professional accounting designation
• Possess a strong understanding of JD Edwards and financial process
• Experience tying operating metrics and results to financial results
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook; familiarity with JD Edwards or another large ERP system would be an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements
