Job Summary
You are a detail oriented individual looking to diversify your experience in payroll. Asthe USPayroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the processing of high volume weekly and bi-weekly payroll, completed in the in-house ERP System.

  • Process full-cycle salary, hourly and union payroll using the in-house ERP system (JD Edwards)
  • Process payroll reconciliations and journal entries on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis
  • Manage, reconcile, file and remit monthly, quarterly and annual stakeholder payments
  • Work closely with the US Payroll Team Lead, relating to all USA tax filing and reporting compliance requirements, and ensure timely reporting of all payroll withholding tax payments to appropriate federal and state agencies
  • Verify new hire information and data changes in JD Edwards
  • Collaborate with work sites to ensure accurate and timely entry to time entry module
  • Resolve time entry issues and assist with time entry as required
  • Collect time and pay reports and follow up on outstanding/missing information as required
  • Respond to payroll inquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist the US Payroll Team Lead and/or Payroll Manager in reconciling and issuingthe W2 USA tax slips annually and resolving more complicated processing and tax issues
  • Serve as back up to other positions in the payroll department
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

  • Minimum of 2+ years' in-house payroll experience
  • Familiarity with JDE/Oracle software is considered an asset
  • Previous exposure to full cycle accounting an asset for USA payroll
  • Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and/or working towards Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) throughthe American Payroll Association
  • Customer service-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills in a business environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate user knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proven critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Superb attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Willingness to ask questions and ability to interact effectively in a team environment
