Job Summary
You are an individual with both dozer and excavator experience seeking a great wage, extensive benefits, and a company who prides themselves on safety. You have previously working alongside crews within a tailings environment and are looking for an opportunity to be home at the end of each work day. You're a team player who is willing to lend a hand whenever assistance is required in order to get the job done. This is a long-term project opportunity with NO camp or travel provided.

Responsibilities
  • Operate up to a size 850 excavator to perform heavy civil work around pipelines, utilities, and piles in a very congested plant setting
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections, completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments, and logs and reports any maintenance concerns with the equipment \
  • Operate dozers ranging in size from D4-D8 to move and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities
  • Remove topsoil as required
  • Ripping ground as required
  • Fill out and understand an equipment log book
  • Perform daily service and preventative maintenance on Dozer Equipment
  • May perform other related duties assigned
  • Ensures the safety of the crew, equipment, and environment
  • Ensures that work is completed during regular hours
  • May perform other duties as required


Requirements
  • Must possess oil sands experience
  • Must be able to operator both a dozer and excavator
  • Must be able to finish grade within 5mm tolerance
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Must have previous experience in a tailings or industrial construction environment
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Must possess valid CSTS .09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification and OSSA
  • Regional Orientation or Basic Safety Orientation certificate (BSO)
  • Must possess and maintain a clean driver's abstract and a valid class 5 driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work at heights, be agile and able to go on/off equipment
  • Work Conditions


Work Conditions
  • Applicants who reside in Fort McMurray will be given preference due to the location of the project
  • Long term maintenance project
  • No camp is provided
  • No travel compensation provided
  • $5.00 an hour up to $50.00 a day will be provided as a local living premium
  • Bus/shuttle options are available from town to site
  • 14/7 shift rotation, working minimum 10 hours per day
  • Benefits provided by CLAC
  • Work will be outdoors in rough terrain and under extreme weather conditions
