Job Summary
You are an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Protection professional with experience in Industrial construction. This role will support the Industrial business unit of the Constructors operating group. As the Senior HS&E Manager, you will be responsiblefor mentoring, coaching, directing and supervising the project site HS&E managers, supervisors and professional HS&E employees in their work with the operations team to ensure effective application of the HS&E program. You will be a member of the business unit senior management team to develop and enhance the HS&E culture within Ledcor.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the operations leadership of HS&E in order for projects to achieve industry leading HS&E performance
  • Provides regular reporting to Senior Leadership
  • Ensures alignment is achieved between HS&E and operations through providing guidance on how HS&E objectives, expectations, processes and programs fit with operations objectives
  • Leads the operations personnel's understanding, compliance, effective execution and interpretation further taking action on the Ledcor "Leading Indicator," competency, incident investigation and Core Management System (CMS) programs
  • Manages the staffing, performance and development of HS&E employees
  • Works with division HS&E senior management to identify, develop and ensure effective implementation of HS&E programs or alignment of Ledcor's HS&E programs to meet or exceed client requirements
  • Establishes a continuous improvement approach to recommend HS&E development both for new programs and effectiveness of existing programs
  • Helps guide Ledcor relationship with clients related to HS&E
  • Builds an environment that supports cooperation and cohesiveness among the work team and with other functional areas within the organization
  • Conducts site visits/audits
  • Guides team functioning to increase group performance
  • May perform other duties as assigned


Requirements
  • 10+ years' HSE experience in a field based role with 5+ years' experience in a supervisory or managerial position - preferably in a Contractor organization or role
  • Demonstrated experience within industrial construction
  • Ability to lead a team of professionals and provide coaching and mentoring in order to increase group performance and bring out the best in people
  • Ability to foster candid, open and honest dialogue both within HS&E and with operations and senior management
  • Knowledge in health and safety management systems as well as experience in managing HS&E auditing programs
  • Possess or in pursuit of course work/certificates/other formal education/work experience in leading people and/or work groups
  • Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver's license
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
  • CRSP or working towards the designation
  • A certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized OHS program
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills


Work Conditions
  • Office based position
  • Frequent travel will be required (40-60%)
