Job Summary
You are an experienced Design Manager with expertise in Telecommunications, Outside Plant or Production Design/Engineering of a Fiber Optic Network. All production related activities flow through the Production Manager, and you are a critical member of the Engineering Management team focused on exceeding goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead production team to exceed goals and timelines
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSP design principles and industry standards, and perform in compliance with updated Safety Codes, Electric Codes, customer practices and procedures
  • Manage project timelines and provide schedule and client updates to Engineering Manager
  • Generate training and procedural documentation
  • Define project scopes and specifications in conjunction with the Engineering Manager at the outset of any new line of business
  • Oversee overall quality and production levels on assigned client lines of business
  • Monitor technological advances, emerging opportunities and trends in the sector
  • Build and maintain business unit resources (internal and external) at the level required to deliver annual forecast of book of business
  • Ensure ongoing employee development and engagement within business unit through implementation of Ledcor employee performance development and management programs
  • Work closely with Ledcor HSE professionals to ensure Ledcor's Corporate safety program and policies are appropriately implemented across the business unit


Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working within Telecommunications, Outside Plant or Mapping Operations of a Fiber Optic Network, with at least 2 years' experience in a management capacity
  • Graduate from a technical college program (preferably in one of the following areas: civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS)
  • Demonstrated leadership in innovation related to areas such as: business process, service delivery methods, and technology application
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
  • Strong MS Office skills, experience with CAD/Microstation/3-GIS/ESRI/ArcGIS would be an asset
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders and interpret their needs
  • Up-to-date knowledge of construction telecom documents, drawings, specifications and current construction practices and methodology
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills to grow & enhance strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to plan and organize service delivery team workloads for multiple project deadlines and quality standards
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
