Job Summary
We are seeking a new grad Pile Monitor to join our Ledcor team in Calgary, AB starting in August 2018 for an approximate 8 month contract with the possibility of extension. The Pile Monitor, under the direction and guidance of the team, provides field based support on projects and assists operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

We're experts in public and private infrastructure construction and maintenance - from national highways to bridges, from airports to underground utilities and independent power projects. We also work on roads, earthworks, foundations, dams, power systems, and waterways.

Responsibilities
•Performing work in a safe and efficient manner and proactively participating and encouraging a positive safety culture
•Working closely with the pile driving crews to monitor, record, summarize, and present pile driving information, quality information, and progress/quantity tracking
•Read and interpret engineered drawings as well as perform quantity takeoffs from an engineered drawing set as well as in the field
•Work closely with the project superintendent ensuring piles are installed in accordance to project specifications and Ledcor's quality standards
•May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements
•Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering preferred
•High attention to detail, accuracy and quality control
•Can build relationships, team orientated, personable, confident
•0-2 years related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience
•Knowledge of engineering drawings and plans
•Strong written and communication skills
•Able to read and understand construction documents
•Strong technical skills including experience with MS Word, Excel, and any Construction related software

Work Conditions
•Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 10 to 12 hour shifts, some weekends will be required, approximate 8 month contract with the possibility of extension
•Travel: Travel to the job site and a valid driver's license
•Available: Starting in August 2018
