Job Summary:

You are a GIS Analyst with 2-4 years of applied experience in the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) in the Esri ArcGIS environment, including spatial data processing, publishing web layers, thematic mapping, database management and knowledge of relevant software tools including SQL Server, and/or FME Workbench. In this role you will be responsible for provision of GIS based support services to the project team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, publish, and maintain project-specific web mapping applications
  • Create maps in various formats using cartographic skills with an understanding of projections and datums
  • Maintain, update, and analyze both spatial and non-spatial data for various projects.
  • Integrate and consolidate different geospatial data formats into GIS
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) tasks as needed
  • Work as part of a team delivering geospatial solutions and support
  • Provide technical support and customer service to GIS-based application users.
  • Maintain user documentation and procedures as needed

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of related experience with GIS, including spatial data processing, publishing web services, thematic mapping, database management, and knowledge of relevant software tools
  • Good working knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop Software Suite (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro)
  • Some familiarity with ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise and web based Esri tools including Collector for ArcGIS/Field Maps, Survey123, Dashboard. Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS is an asset
  • Experience with telecommunication or linear infrastructure projects is an asset
  • Ability to work with databases such as MS Access and SQL Server is an asset
  • Experience in FME Workbench, AutoCAD and MicroStation is an asset
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a changing environment

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time, predominantly remote, work from home position. Occasional visits to site or the office will be required.
