Job Summary:

You are an experienced surface mine Driller who takes pride in the safe and efficient operation of production mining equipment in a surface pit operation. You will be operating a DM45 drill in a large open pit surface mine. You are a driven individual, who continuously looks for opportunities to learn and grow.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operation of DM45 deck drill
• Operates and understands mechanics of a top head drilling unit equipped with multi-function joy sticks and GPS on a mine site
• Drill blast holes 23' in depth
• Complies with all company, client, legislated safety policies and procedures of drilling in a large open pit surface mine
• Understands the limitations of the drill rig and the performances it can safely provide
• Detects and performs small mechanical repairs to the drill
• Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

• Minimum two year's surface mine drilling experience, using a DM45 drilling unit
• Must have thorough knowledge of drill patterns ad the structure in which they are developed
• MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket is required; training and support is provided to obtain or update certificate as needed. 
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Must be able to arrange own accommodations, various options available in Eureka, Ely, or nearby RV parks

Work Conditions:

• Rotation of 5/4, 12-hour day shifts; night shifts are required
• Ability to work overtime may be required
