Description
Job Summary:
The HS&E Coordinator is responsible for applying the professional Health, Safety and Environment practices at a work/project site. This individual leverages knowledge of safety management systems and legislation and applies them in a work setting with limited supervision.Provides independent advice to operations management regarding the company HS&E program, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle
Conducts simple investigations, identifying root causes and creating flash reports
Conducts Hazard Assessments, identifying and addressing unsafe conditions and behaviours
Collects leading and lagging indicators and performs simple calculations
Supports the company case management program and monitors return-to-work process
Conducts focus audits of site specific standards and reports findings
Verifies implementation of corrective actions
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry Health and Safety experience
Previous experience in specific areas of construction (per divisional/site requirements)
Thorough understanding of OHS programs, policies and requirements
Demonstrated intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop, and an aptitude for learning various computer software systems
Ability to explain information and persuade others in straightforward situations
Ability to solve standard problems through analysis, evaluating and applying standard procedures
