Ledcor Highways Maintenance is looking to continue to grow our business and we have developed a Graduated Equipment Operator Training program in conjunction with CLAC.

Ledcor is offering selected employees the opportunity to participate in our Graduated Operator Training program. With Ledcor’s assistance and a formal commitment from employees, Ledcor will help employees progress towards attainment of their Class 3 license with air endorsement and full equipment operator competency.

Employees will develop the skills necessary to make them safe and component winter plow operators and will be able to have the opportunity for full-time employment. You will be responsible for clearing and maintaining Alberta highways, using various heavy equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform various highway maintenance tasks including crack sealing, asphalt patching, flagging, message painting , etc.

  • Assist with traffic control procedures

  • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment

  • Perform other road maintenance duties as required

Qualifications

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks

  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Traffic Controller or Flagging experience an asset

Work Conditions

  • Local candidates will be given preference due to the location of the projects

  • Shift work, on-call and night shift may be required

  • Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions
