Job Summary:

You are a Junior Accountant with strong communication skills who can assist with the administration of accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end reporting. You are a quick learner, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Working with a “boutique” group of professionals who have a passion for developing real estate, your interaction with project teams and stakeholders is important to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data. In this role, you will be focused on completing various types of month end accounting entries and be involved in assisting in the preparation of management and partner reporting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing accounts payable including coding, vendor set-up, coordinating payments, and mailing
  • Support development teams with accounts payable and treasury processes
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Responsible for job costing budget updates in JDE and reporting
  • Process and audit deposits and payments in a timely manner
  • Assist in preparation of financial reporting package for Partners
  • Assist in preparation of dashboard and other management reporting and presentations
  • Assist in preparation of monthly construction loan draws
  • Responsible for digital document management, including record keeping and filing on the shared drive, ensuring efficient organization and easy retrieval of electronic files
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Finance team members, project team members, and other key stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • A post-secondary degree in accounting or related field experience
  • Strong proficiency with computerized systems including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with JD Edwards an asset
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills – ability to compose effective and accurate correspondence
  • Exceptionally well-organized and able to multi-task
  • Self-motivator who can work independently in carrying out assignments to completion
  • Possess assertiveness yet use discretionary tactics in communicating
  • Good judgment and able to handle highly confidential matters

  • This role will be a hybrid position, working from home and in our office
