Job Summary:
You are an experienced Carpenter Foreperson with commercial construction expertise. You have experience leading a large crew, preparing on-site personnel for the project and day to day execution of work, and enforcing safety regulations.Join the Ledcor Building Construction Group in Vancouver and across the lower mainland!
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment, including cleanliness and adherence to safety regulations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction crew, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Supervise and optimize labour, equipment, materials and sub-contractors on-site
- Ensure work is by drawings and specifications
- Keep accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, photographs, and documentation of any changes or issues encountered.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings and inspections
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience running crews in a supervisory role
- Experience in commercial or residential construction projects
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools for scheduling and documentation.
- Familiarity with various construction methods, techniques, and materials.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Conditions:
- Regular work week of 44 hours
- Overtime may be required to meet construction deadlines
- Must be open to night shifts and weekend work when required
- Work will primarily be outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be comfortable working at heights
