Essential Responsibilities
  • Safe and efficient operation of excavators, backhoes, trenchers, dozers, cable plows, etc.
  • Provide light maintenance and routine service to equipment!
  • Operates equipment, hand tools and lifts heavy items (up to 50 pounds)
  • Reads underground utility locates and ensures safe digging practices are always being adhered to
  • Maintains a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and Ledcor.
  • Works as a part of an overhead telecom line crew and assists with restoring job sites back to their original state.
  • Assists in installing telecommunication fixtures, handling cables, conduit and other materials.
  • Perform manual labor such as shovel/ broom work, hand digging, trenching, pulling and removing material, job site clean-up and various tasks associated with utility construction.
  • Maintains a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and Ledcor.
  • Digging, working with dirt, concrete, rock, grading, tape measures, levels

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in Heavy Equipment operation.
  • A valid CDL A license with a tanker endorsement is Required.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, pre-access drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Experience with safely operating a variety of large and small power equipment, light vehicles and properly tow/back-up trailers.
  • Experience in Telecommunications Construction heavily favored.

Work Conditions

  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
