As the Director, Information Systems you will be responsible for the overall planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of all systems needed to support the Summit Aviation Group. You will work closely with the Summit Operations team to establish the roadmap that supports both long and short-term expectations and needs. Additionally, the Director will work closely with Ledcor IS team to ensure alignment of direction and services to support the implementation of the Summit Aviation plans.
This position will be based from Vancouver and is a combination of both in office and work from home. Summit Air has bases across Canada so travel to other work locations will be required. Come join the Summit Air team by applying today!
Responsibilities:
Proactive Technical Infrastructure Management (30%)
- Accountable for the management of the technical infrastructure environment to ensure high availability, security, performance, and recoverability across the Summit
- Proactively addressing issues and challenges to improve performance
Delivery of Quality Products and Services (20%)
- Develop and consistently execute processes in the delivery of services to constantly improve the performance of the applications, technical infrastructure, and the team
- Focus on optimizing the costs of service delivery to the business, so as to be competitive in the marketplace
System implementation & Technology Roadmap Development (35%)
- Consults with internal and external stakeholders to design, evaluate and implement potential systems and applications
- Manage, develop and communicate the path forward with the existing key platforms in conjunction with key stakeholders
- Additionally, provide direction on the opportunities to extend these platforms
- This roadmap will align and support overall business strategy
- Consults and collaborates with various team members to provide expertise on analysis, design, implementation, and support for technology solutions across Summit.
Talent Acquisition and Development (15%)
- Manages a team of IT professionals and provides them with mentorship and guidance to ensure action and accountability for their assigned work and fosters a collaborative environment of ongoing learning and development
- Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple software development activities with a focus on service delivery
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Business Administration or other IT related field is required
- 10+ years' experience in infrastructure and application management or software development
- Knowledge of technical infrastructure operations
- Knowledge of application and software development, including related policies and processes
- Project management skills
- Experience with system implementations and creating a technology roadmap
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work with various levels within an organization
- Team player with excellent collaboration skills and previous experience leading high performing teams
Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel will be required to other sites across Canada
