Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with implementation of Ledcor systems and procedures during project start-up including project billing and cost accounting system set-up, create and maintain project directory
  • Assist with close-out process
  • Participate in quantity take offs, ensuring alignment with contract documents
  • Support the change order management process by assisting with securing pricing and change order administration
  • Provide oversight and technical support for project work on Highway Construction Operations including subcontractors and hired services
  • Provide project management support by securing pricing from vendors, reviewing, and inputting data, client relations, subcontractor management, cost reporting and related activities
  • Perform general administrative and recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation, submittals and RFI’s; preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines, maintenance of files, logs, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate and maintain project quality documents, including completing quality related field inspections and proper recordkeeping
  • Assist with development of estimates and participate in estimating activities such as preparing budgets, cost studies and competitive bids
  • Support the (sub) contract management and procurement process through the tendering and awarding of work or supply materials, processing invoices and progress claims, and assisting with the review of documents and inquiries
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for approval and assist with procurement of materials and equipment 
  • Promotes a culture of health, safety, and environmental protection on the project by taking an active role in the implementation of the Ledcor Safety Program to achieve compliance of Ledcor Health and Safety standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 1 year of Project Coordination, Estimating, Surveying and/or Material Testing experience is an asset
  • Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Civil Engineering or related discipline an asset
  • Strong desire to own workload and work with little direct supervision 
  • Can build relationships, is team orientated, personable, confident, able to influence key stakeholders and proactively participate in discussions 
  • Strong technical skills including experience with MS Word, Excel, and estimating and scheduling software. Previous exposure working with Government Clients (MTO, Municipalities, etc.) would be an asset
  • Capable of identifying issues and generating solutions 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Fit for lifting of material samples up to 20 kilograms to a height of 3 feet 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and provide a clear driver's abstract
