Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Ironworkers or those with an active apprenticeship with live plant experience.  Our Fort McMurray Industrial projects are stable and long-term which means you can plan for your future, whether that be saving for your child’s education or your next amazing vacation.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Erect steel to complete structural steel structures, pre-assemble panelization, bridges and gangways 

  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to correctly erect structures  

  • Previous experience with layout, man lifts in congested areas and connecting mods is considered an asset  

  • Rigging and heavy lift experience: working with construction cranes, derricks, and other hoisting equipment 

  • Ensures that work is completed within deadlines 

  • Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervision  

  • Must be flexible with duties to support project requirements 

 

Requirements: 

  • Must possess a Journeyperson or apprentice Ironworker holding a structural or generalist certificate 

  • Previous experience in an industrial or live plant setting required 

  • Communication and team player attitude   

  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing  

  • Ledcor requires possession of OSSA Regional with CSTS/BSO or CSO, Fall Protection  

Work Conditions: 

  • Shift based position with 14 days on and 7 days off working 10 hours per day   

  • Long term projects, site based camp provided 

  • Charter Flights from either Edmonton or Calgary, or travel allowance for out-of-province candidates who qualify  

  • Extended Health & Wellness benefits provided by CLAC  

  • Work will primarily be outdoors in various weather conditions
