You are an experienced Environmental Manager, who will have direct responsibility for leading a team of professionals to deliver the environmental program on our project sites. You will ensure the establishment and maintenance of the Environmental Management Plans, auditing and reporting on the performance of the Environmental Plans, the CEMP Framework, and any terms and conditions associated with environmental permits. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Directing all aspects of Ledcor's environmental program for the Project Work, including overseeing the environmental auditing program
- Ensuring environmental issues and requirements are met in accordance with the agreement
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with relevant Environmental Authorities and Interested Parties
- Taking a lead role in internal environmental design reviews including development of mitigation and compensation proposals, acceptable to the Province and Environmental Authorities
- Liaising with the Client's Representative and acting as the single point representative for Ledcor on all matters relating to environmental management
- Implementing the Construction Environmental Management Plan and monitoring and verifying Ledcor’s compliance with the requirements of such plan
- Implementing environmental quality management systems and procedures in collaboration with the Quality Manager responsible for the Environmental Quality Management Plan
- Preparing and submitting to the Client's Representative all plans, reports and documents required under the CEMP Framework
- Developing, managing and implementing plans and practices to address project environmental requirements
- Working with Indigenous Groups in relation to environmental protection and archaeological preservation
Qualifications
- 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in a senior management position on major projects such as light rail transit construction in urban and undeveloped areas
- An appropriately Qualified Professional (Qualified Environmental Professional per the Provincial Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy)
- 10+ years of combined education and experience in the delivery/management of an environmental compliance program
- Demonstrated experience submitting applications and operating under relevant federal and provincial permits
- Background in developing, monitoring and auditing environmental practices and performance
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices
- Knowledge of construction site erosion and sedimentation controls and BMP’s
- Effective communication, conflict resolution and organization skills
- Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making abilities
Work Conditions
- Field responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditions
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends
