Job Summary:

You are an multi skilled Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in heavy civil maintenance projects. You will be an integral part of the Ledcor team working with our core maintenance crew. For you, safety and quality are a priority, and you are proud of your work at the end of each day. You have previously worked alongside crews within a civil environment, are a team player who is willing to lend a hand whenever assistance is required to get the job done.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operating Excavator and Dozer to finish grade
  • Perform tasks to support earth works operations – reclamation, handling large blast rock
  • You will be working around decaying infrastructures, overhead hazards, steep grades, steep slopes, narrow roads and multiple other contractors in high traffic areas
  • Provide general clean up, repairs, ongoing monitoring and maintenance of work areas
  • Must be willing to perform heavy labour work as well as operating heavy equipment when required
  • Ensures that work is completed to the set deadlines and on schedule

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years working in an industrial setting
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating an Excavator and Dozer
  • Must have finishing grade experience and skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Skid Steer experience an asset
  • Ledcor requires possession of CSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training Systems)
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1
  • Bear Awareness
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License and Driver's Abstract

Work Conditions:

  • Applicants that reside in Kitimat, BC or surrounding areas will be given preference due to the location of this project
  • Local candidates must have their own transportation to travel to and from the project
  • Site based role, rotational shift will be assigned, working 10-12 hour days
  • Approximately 2-3 months of work with the potential to extend
  • Extended health benefits provided by CLAC
  • Work will be outdoors in rough terrain and under extreme weather conditions and in an environmentally sensitive area
