Job Summary:

Are you skilled in operating hoists and elevators, with a keen eye for safety? We're hiring two Hoist and Elevator Operator to join our team in Vancouver. Whether you're experienced or just starting out, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging construction projects while prioritizing safety. Responsibilities:

  • Operate the hoist/elevator as part of a crew, independently, or with other certified operators.
  • Utilize the control panel to manually operate the lift, moving between site floors.
  • Coordinate with the team via handheld transceiver to determine hoist/elevator requirements for each floor.
  • Flexible availability, including Monday to Saturday if necessary.
  • Conduct inspections and safety checks on the hoist to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with manual labor tasks when not operating the hoist/elevator, such as cleaning or moving materials.
  • Cover breaks and vacations for fellow hoist operators.
  • Perform safety checks on equipment to prevent mechanical issues.
  • Comfortable lifting objects weighing up to 40lbs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Hoist/Elevator Operator ticket.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as required.
  • Proficiency in identifying hazards and safety concerns when operating a hoist.
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Comfortable working at significant heights.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Work Conditions:

  • Work predominantly outdoors, adapting to various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable and skilled working at significant heights.
