Job Summary:
As the HS&E Lead, you will be responsible for applying professional Health and Safety practices at a work/project site. You will be providing advice and recommendations to operations and clients on health and safety matters while providing guidance to HS&E personnel. You demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of safety management systems, legislation, and standards, and applies them effectively in various work settings with minimal guidance.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Develops and conducts Hazard Assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors
- Conducts focus audits of HS&E plan requirements, reports findings and verifies implementation of corrective actions Provides guidance to operations management at site level regarding company HS&E programs and program implementation
- Performs site implementation of HS&E processes and practices, and addresses issues relating to HS&E, emergency response, performance metrics, and safety management systems on-site
- Assesses effectiveness of corrective action plan resulting from incidents, inspections, audits, and overall performance
- Analyzes leading and lagging indicators and develops recommendations for improvement based on data analysis
- Conduct incident investigation, identifying root causes for complex investigations
- Provide training and guidance to operations on incident investigation processes and best practices
- Supports the supervisor in the occupational injury and illness management program and monitoring the return-to-work process
- Implement measures to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses through proactive safety initiatives
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant HS&E, trade, or industry experience
- In-depth understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with an aptitude for learning various computer software systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skills
- Proven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy, fostering cooperation and compliance with HS&E standards
- Ability to solve complex problems by evaluating existing solutions and exercising independent judgement to drive effective outcomes
Work Conditions
- Candidate should be based in the locations mentioned above or are willing to relocate to this area
- Field responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditions
- Travel to various sites and office locations (approximately 25-50% of the time) is required
