Civil Superintendent, Building Construction

You are a seasoned Superintendent with 3+ years of field operations experience working in multi-disciplinary large-scale, commercial projects. You will be responsible for civil & earthworks for a complex ICI project, ensuring company policies and procedures for safety, scheduling, budget, quality control and client satisfaction are met, while using industry knowledge and experience to drive long-term objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
• Ensures project materials are supplied, and work is completed in compliance with the Project Quality Program
• Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained
• Develops, maintains and drives the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; ensures project milestones and completion dates are met
• Strategically plans and implements manpower levels and material quantities; ensures proper equipment and trades are available as required
• Assumes a leadership role and provides guidance to project team members in order to contribute to their development and career growth
• Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression
• Oversees project reporting that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position or similar role
• Experience working on civil and earthworks scopes on construction projects within healthcare, data centers, aircraft hangars, aviation warehousing facilities, and other complex projects
• Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification/education
• Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
• Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
• Excellent organizational, planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations
• Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development 
• Ability to anticipate problems and challenges, while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives
• Must have and maintain a valid drivers license
